Kevin Ngwenya, also known professionally as Kev Seven, is a graffiti and mural artist working between Durban and Johannesburg. Originally from a small remote town in Ladysmith, Kwa-Zulu Natal, he later moved to the township of Umlazi and eventually settled in the inner city of Durban, where his passion for the creative arts flourished. In 2010, he enrolled at Nanda Sooben’s Centre for Fine Arts, Animation, and Design, where his artistic journey truly began to take shape. Drawing inspiration from comic book illustrations and the architectural textures of his urban surroundings, Ngwenya's work found its unique voice. Subsequently, he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, graduating in 2017 with majors in English, Media, Cultural Studies, and Music. This diverse academic background fostered a symbiotic relationship between public arts, design, and their impact on modern pop-culture media and society.
